Portosigns is one of those stores that exist for the tourist delight. The shop owners don’t hide their intentions of selling the city of Porto to those who visit it. But they do it in a very glamorous style.
Located at Ribeira, the most typical neighborhood of the city, the shop persists since 2006, selling several products of Portuguese origin. There, you can find cork textile products, ceramic objects (including the typical Barcelos Rooster and some pieces from the acknowledged Portuguese artist Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro), jewels, perfumes, postcards and, of course, Port Wines.
In the store that mixes its rustic and ancient arches with a modern decoration, you will also find traditional toys and many types of handicrafts abreast with works from designers, photographers and painters. Or you can simply buy a t-shirt with a reference to Porto. What you can be sure about is the high quality of the products sold – that is one of the main missions of Portosigns.
Besides its commercial goal, Portosigns also promotes, in a regular basis, exhibitions of new products from Portuguese artisans and artists.
You will also find there some useful service like Internet access, cultural information about what to see and where to go, tips for the best tourist routes, details about the best restaurants and bars and advice on where to sleep. It is also a spot where you can buy tickets for the different boat trips available for Douro river adventures.
Both stores open every day. Mondays to Saturdays from 10am to 8pm; and on Sundays from 2pm to 7pm.
