Duas de Letra is a small bistro located in downtown Porto, across the street from the City Library. Open since 2012, this small, cosy cafe-bar is filled with stories and memories. The three owners decided to open this cafe because they were all unemployed and they devoted their creativity, time and furniture to the space. Take a special look at the counter, the lamps on the front room and some older pieces of furniture. It’s almost like you’re at home.
At each table you’ll find a small box with Lego’s. And you’ll feel the urge to play with them and have something built by the time you leave. Duas de Letra is one of the few places in Porto where you can have brunch at any time of the day. Or where you can have an early light dinner.
On the menu you’ll find traditional ingredients and flavours that will bring you back to your childhood, you’ll also find a really good chocolate cake and one of the most delicious drinks of all times: “groselha” (currant syrup and water drink).
While having your meal or just enjoying your cup of coffee, you might want to pay attention to the music. The playlists are built by each of the owners and based on their own personal preferences. If you want to email your friends or share some photos, you can do it by logging in into their wi-fi network.
If you like to enjoy your meal/coffee outside just walk past the counter and pick a table in the terrace. It’s lovely all year round! On the first floor there are two rooms: one where they will schedule some workshops and cultural activities and smaller room where you can sit, enjoy your meal/coffee with a view of the terrace.
Duas de Letra is located close to many Porto landmarks such as the Coliseu, Majestic cafe, Batalha Square and the São Bento train station.
