Classy is the first word that will come to your mind when you walk through the doors of Baixa Bar, in downtown Porto. The second is “UAU!”. You’ll notice the wooden tunnel leading to a modern mirrored room. Located in the Entertainment District, Baixa Bar is one of my favorite places for a night out! The decoration is great, the clientele is charming and the eclectic musical choice makes it the perfect place. Fun is guaranteed!
Like Porto, Baixa Bar is a place of contrasts. Between the decoration. Between the people you meet – late 20s to early 50s – and the musical selection. Hits from the 80s and 90s are sure to be heard through the speakers. Plus, you won’t be able to stand still just enjoying your drink. The DJs are really good and you’ll eventually loosen up and start dancing. Either you know the song or it is the last hit in the charts!

One of the things I like the most about Baixa Bar is the decoration. Whether you’re in the mood for a relaxed drink or to dance the night away, this is the bar where to do it. Plus, in great style! As you walk in Baixa Bar almost takes the Parisian like decoration from the street to the inside of the bar. Warm pink walls, golden plaster frames, mirrors and rosettes on the ceiling do the trick! But once you walk through the wooden tunnel – which is amazingly hypnotizing – you walk in a “Disco”. Yes, it’s classy. But it still has the mirror ball hanging from the mirrored ceiling! Totally worth it! :)
Fun fact: this bar used to be a carpentry shop!

Baixa Bar is open from 9pm to 2am on week days and from 9pm to 4am on weekends (friday and saturday). Right next door, you can find Plano B and many orhers bars and clubs to go to! Take a look.
